Our flagship project

Anticipatory multi-sector response to prevent and mitigate the impacts of displacement in Mwenga territory

Result: Triggered before the peak of the crisis, this anticipatory action provided food assistance, WASH support, health care and protection to 7,000 people at risk of displacement.

Spotlight — the Ebola response

HAA is accredited by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) for epidemic response, including Ebola virus disease. In August 2026, HAA launched a two-part partnership with Direct Relief in the Beni Health Zone (North Kivu), one of the historical epicentres of Ebola outbreaks in the DRC.

  • Component 1 — Medical donation : around 80 lines of medical products (essential medicines, protective equipment, WASH supplies), nearly 1.2 tonnes, certified as humanitarian aid by Direct Relief.
  • Component 2 — Community Ebola preparedness : a 6-month pilot phase in 4 of the zone's 25 health areas (474,236 inhabitants), with dedicated resources for field staff, supervision, training and logistics, complemented by in-kind support from Direct Relief.
  • Four components : risk communication and community engagement (RCCE), community-based surveillance and early warning, infection prevention and control (IPC), targeted support to health facilities.
  • Dedicated team : 1 project coordinator, 2 RCCE/IPC field officers, 1 surveillance and data focal point, 20 community health workers.
