Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA) is a humanitarian organization founded on Christian values, which works to meet urgent and development needs in the DRC, with particular focus on vulnerable and marginalized populations. HAA adopts an integrated approach to ensure accessible, dignified, and inclusive aid, involving all social categories (gender, age, religion, ethnicity, marginalized groups, displaced persons, returnees, host families, etc.).

To contribute to a world where every individual, regardless of gender, origin or situation, lives in dignity, equity and security, and fully participates in the development of resilient, inclusive and prosperous communities.

Vision

Humanitarian Action for Africa's mission is to intervene to save lives, alleviate human suffering and safeguard people's dignity. HUMANITARIAN ACTION FOR AFRICA « HAA » in acronym aims to:

  • To be at the service of human development, to concretize Human Rights and to support sustainable and equitable development, with and for the most disadvantaged populations;
  • To provide humanitarian assistance as well as solidarity actions for the benefit of vulnerable populations (victims of war, natural disasters, political, ethnic, economic or social oppression, ecological threat or any other emergency or underdevelopment situation), with the aim of meeting their primary (vital) needs.

HAA's capacity to manage moderate to high risk projects

Humanitarian Action for Africa (HAA) has solid expertise in managing moderate to high risk projects, acquired through its interventions in areas affected by conflict, mass population displacement and complex humanitarian crises in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Governance and risk management

HAA has established rigorous governance with integrated risk management systems. The organization systematically assesses operational contexts to identify and mitigate potential risks, whether security, financial, operational or related to beneficiary protection. It applies contingency and crisis management plans adapted to high-risk environments, ensuring continuity of activities even in unpredictable contexts.

Contextual expertise in conflict zones

HAA has been intervening for years in regions such as South Kivu, Maniema and North Kivu, characterized by armed conflict, population displacement and intercommunity tensions. These experiences have enabled it to develop a deep understanding of local dynamics and collaborate effectively with local authorities, community leaders and international partners to ensure project success.

Skills and tools for operational efficiency

The organization has a well-trained multidisciplinary team capable of working in difficult conditions. Staff members are regularly trained in security, risk management, child protection, PSEA (Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), and financial management. HAA also uses digital tools for real-time monitoring and evaluation, ensuring effective project supervision.

HAA adopts an integrated approach to ensure accessible, dignified, and inclusive aid, involving all social categories (gender, age, religion, ethnicity, marginalized groups, displaced persons, returnees, host families, etc.). Our commitment to integrity and accountability

The HAA code of conduct demonstrates a zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and violence, harassment, abuse of power in all its forms, fraud and corruption in all HAA activities and responsibilities, both at the organizational and program levels, in humanitarian and development work.

In the event of a breach of the code of conduct, appropriate disciplinary procedures and measures apply in accordance with the personnel policies of Humanitarian Action for Africa.
